Pierre Ralite Ambassadeur Tribord

Pierre Ralite, Hendaye

Pierre has always been a sailor. He started off very young on Belle-Île-en-Mer in Brittany, with his personal trainer "Grandpa François". He discovered the joys of catamaran sailing, and the love of water has never left him since. With friends or family, and whenever the opportunity arises, he raises the sails or organises J80 and 4.70 for his ICAM Voile students' association.

He has turned his passion into a job. He has been working as a product engineer at Tribord for 2 years and is relentlessly pursuing his slightly crazy goal of taking part in the 2019 Mini Transat.

WHEN THE DREAM COMES TRUE

After countless trips with friends or colleagues, and thanks to more regular sailing since he joined Tribord, Pierre has started to pursue his greatest dream. He is passionately interested in the adventure of Clarisse in the Atlantic and, when he sails in Lorient, with Nolwenn Cazé and Ian Lipsinki, who are both "mini" navigators too. A whole sequence of circumstances that ended up by convincing him that one day, he too, would cross the Atlantic.

Once he had obtained the support of the entire Tribord team and set up his Pierro Large offshore racing association in readiness for the Mini Transat, Pierre started looking for the most suitable boat.

MINI 6.50

At the start of the 2017 Mini Transat, Pierre was looking for his "mini". He opted for a carbon prototype that is easier to sail, but performs just as well as the other "minis". Pierre has already competed in three offshore races in the prototypes category onboard his 6.50 boat. He started with the Plastimo Lorient Mini doubles race with boat's architect in order to get to know the boat, then in the Pornichet Select single-handed event. By May 2018, Pierre had reached his "cruising speed" aboard his "mini". After a gentle start, he crossed the finishing line in fourth place in his class, after spending four and a half days at sea.

Both he and the entire team behind him took great pride in the result.

MUCH MORE THAN AN AMBASSADOR

The partnership between Pierre and the brand now started to really mean something. Not only is his boat decked out in the brand's colours, but he also wears an outfit that he designed and tested himself. So what's the deal? He tests the complete outfit during the races and qualification rounds for the 2019 Mini Transat 2019, with equipment that is perfectly adapted to the conditions.

Pierre is much more than an ambassador. He contributes to the design and development of outfits for offshore sailing, single-handed races and extreme conditions.

"By day and by night, he never stops!"
