Profilter UV protection
The knit of this TRIBORD anti-UV product blocks at least 98% of UVB radiation and 95% of UVA (UPF 50+). In compliance with the EN-13758-2 standard, it guarantees effective protection against the sun. It can be used both in and out of the water, for water or nautical sports. The integration of ceramic particles directly into the fibres of the product provides durable protection over time, even after washing.
Quick drying
The polyester fabric naturally enables rapid drying after being in the water.
Behaviour when in the sun
Although this t-shirt protects against the sun, phenomena such as reflections (from water, sand ...), heat, time of day, etc. must be taken into account. Wearing this t-shirt does not exempt the wearer from following the relevant advice: wear sunglasses, wear a hat or a cap, regular application of an appropriate sunscreen, drink regularly, etc.
What does UPF 50+ mean?
UPF is a sun protection factor (Ultra Violet Protection Factor) and is standardised worldwide. It defines the protection level of a fabric and more precisely the proportion of UV rays it lets through. To meet the standards, it must block at least 95% of UV rays. UPF 50+ means that the fabric blocks at least 95% of UVB and 98% of UVA rays.
Sandproof component
The product's knit reduces the hold of sand in the textile.
Reduced chafing
This anti-UV t-shirt protects against rubbing and chafing due to contact with the surfboard or bodyboard. It may also be used under a wetsuit to protect from chafing, particularly around the neck and underarms. We carefully designed the body-hugging cut of this Tribord Top with seamless panels under the arms to limit irritation caused by paddling movements when surfing.
Stays in place
This Tribord anti-UV Top has a drawstring at the hips. This allows you to close the top for better stability. It has also been designed so that the drawstring of your boardshorts can be attached to it to stop the top from riding up while you surf.

    Poor design
    Poor design using drawstring

As a swimming teacher, I ordered 5 of these tops as they seemed like good value. Unfortunately this was not the case as the draw string at the bottom (a new initiative) pulled through on the first time it was worn, so there is a useless length of string hanging down at the front of the waist band.

    Brand's answer :

    Dear Philip,
Thank you for your feedback provided about the UV surf top. We are sorry to hear that you discovered some issues with the drawstring. I can imagine this is fixable part of this model? If there is nothing what can be done to put this drawstring back in place, then please return it for replacement. This drawstring is designed to help surfers to keep the top in place. Also you can attach it to your boardshorts to stop the top from riding up while you surf. If you are still not convinced about this model then please return it to your local store or use the online procedure for full refund or exchange. Once again apologise for any inconvenience caused.Kind regards,
