Novadry re-creates torrential rain conditions in its weather simulator. Under these conditions, after 4 hours under a shower of 300 L/hr/sqm, our garment still kept the user dry. To give you an idea of what this means, the world record for 4.5 hours of precipitation was 174 L/hr/sqm, unmatched since 1942 in the USA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, USDC), and when it rains in Paris, the average rainfall is 2 L/hr/sqm (www.Paris.fr).

Machine wash your Offshoroa waterproof anorak at 30°C. Inside-out with hook and loop strips stuck together. Choose a long rinse and gentle spin cycle. Line dry if possible. Occasional tumble drying on low for a short period of time will improve the water repellent treatment. To reactivate the water repellent treatment, you can also warm iron the fabric at a maximum temperature of 140°C or apply the Tribord re-waterproofing spray.
Store in a dry place, but do not leave NOVADRY® garments on a heat source such as a radiator, as this may damage the breathable membrane or coating.
FEATURES OF THE PRODUCT
The exclusive Beaufort 2L+ component is guaranteed to keep you dry even under torrential rain. In the rain simulator, your Offshoroa anorak spent 4 hours under the equivalent of a 300 L/hr/sqm shower without the tiniest drop getting through the product. The component's waterproofing is guaranteed to more than 10,000 mm of water pressure. All seams are fully taped.
What is a waterproofing test or "shower test"?
Approved test where the garment is placed under a shower simulating different weather conditions. All of our products are certified 100% waterproof, having been tested for 4+ hours in rain of 300 L/hr/sqm to 450 L/hr/sqm, depending on the product use. To put this into perspective, the highest recorded rain fall was in the USA in 1942, when 174 L/hr/sqm fell over 4.5 hours (NOAA). The average rainfall in Paris is 2 L/hr/sqm (www.Paris.fr)
The mesh-lined hood is fitted with a 3-way adjustment for optimal comfort. You can therefore adjust the height of the hood with an elastic drawstring and a cord lock, the field of vision with an elastic drawcord and toggles built into the back of the hood, and finally the height of the visor with a rip-tab strip on the top of the hood.
Protection of documents and multimedia accessories:
The jacket has two zipped inner waterproof pockets including one built into the central opening flap, which can be accessed even when the anorak is closed and has a hole for headphones.
The wrists are equipped with adjustable double storm cuffs. The synthetic rubber inner cuff is adjustable with a rip-tab to provide an excellent seal. The collar features an elastic drawstring that allows you to adjust the collar to prevent air and water from getting inside.
The injection-moulded plastic central zip is resistant to corrosion from salt water thanks to the special shape of the teeth. This is coupled with a double outer flap that guarantees perfect waterproofing of the anorak.
It can be adjusted using a wide comfortable rip-tab strip, allowing you to optimise heat conservation by stopping air getting in and maximising the anorak's waterproofing.
Hand warmer pockets:
One of the two fleece-lined hand warmer pockets is equipped with a storm cord that allows you to secure your equipment, and the other a large ring on a strap which can be used to attach your kill switch snap hook.
The reflective 3M patches on the sleeves, collar, hood and the Tribord logo intensify low light sources.
What is breathability and the RET index?
The breathability of your Offshoroa anorak corresponds to its ability to let perspiration generated by the body escape. It is measured by its Resistance to Evaporative Transfer (ISO 11092 standard). The RET is a resistance index; the lower the value, the greater the breathability of the fabric. RET between 6 and 9: extremely breathable, between 10 and 13: very breathable, between 14 and 17: breathable, between 18 and 20: little breathability, above 20: not breathable.
Water repellent component:
The water repellency of your Offshoroa anorak is obtained by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment causes water to slide over the surface without soaking in. This prevents the component from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight, breathable, and warm. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime. Water repellent treatment products are available in our stores.
How important is windproofing?
Protection from the wind is very important, as wind can chill the body significantly whether you are active or at rest. According to the "wind chill" model, which measures how the air temperature feels when factoring in the wind and cold: at a temperature of 5°C combined with winds of 30 km/h, the temperature felt will be 0°C. If the air temperature is 0°C and wind speed is 40 km/h, the temperature felt will be -7°C. Your Offshoroa anorak counters the wind chill effect.
What is a waterproof and breathable HYDROPHILIC membrane?
The membrane works in stages to wick away perspiration. Firstly, the fabric absorbs water vapour until it is saturated. Then, due to the difference in pressure between inside and outside the jacket, the fabric disperses the water vapour outwards. The main advantage of the hydrophilic membrane is that it does not contain pores; consequently, there is no need to constantly rinse the fabric to wash off any salt water crystals. Breathability therefore remains constant over time.
