Novadry re-creates torrential rain conditions in its weather simulator. Under these conditions, after 4 hours under a shower of 300 L/hr/sqm, our garment still kept the user dry. To give you an idea of what this means, the world record for 4.5 hours of precipitation was 174 L/hr/sqm, unmatched since 1942 in the USA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, USDC), and when it rains in Paris, the average rainfall is 2 L/hr/sqm (www.Paris.fr).

Machine wash your Offshoroa Men's waterproof oilskin at 30°C. Turn inside-out and fasten rip-tabs. Choose a long rinse and gentle spin cycle. Line dry if possible. Occasional tumble drying on low for a short period of time will improve the water repellent treatment. To reactivate the water repellent treatment, you can also warm iron the fabric or apply the Tribord re-waterproofing spray
Store in a dry place, but do not leave NOVADRY® garments on a heat source such as a radiator, as this may damage the breathable membrane or coating.
FEATURES OF THE PRODUCT
The exclusive Novadry component is guaranteed to keep you dry even under torrential rain. In the rain simulator, the jacket stayed for 4 hours under the equivalent of a 300 L/hr/sqm storm without the tiniest drop getting through the product. The material's waterproofing is guaranteed to more than 8,000 mm of water pressure. All seams are fully taped.
The hood head size is adjustable and it has good visibility thanks to its two-way adjustment: around the head and the visor height.
Jacket bottom hem:
The jacket hem is adjustable with an elasticated drawcord and locking eyelets that improve heat retention, prevent cold air from entering, and maximise the jacket's watertightness.
Protection of documents and accessories:
The inner zip pocket lets you keep your documents and accessories safe and protected from moisture.
The two large zipped handwarmer pockets with storage compartment protect your hands from the wind and rain while keeping your possessions safe when necessary.
What is a waterproofing test or "shower test"?
Approved test where the garment is placed under a shower simulating different weather conditions. All our products are certified 100% waterproof having been tested for 4+ hours in rain of 100 L/hr/sqm to 450 L/hr/sqm depending on the product use. To put this into perspective, the highest recorded rain fall was in the USA in 1942, when 174 L/hr/sqm fell over 4.5 hours (NOAA). The average rainfall in Paris is 2 L/hr/sqm (www.Paris.fr)

What is a waterproof and breathable HYDROPHILIC membrane?
The membrane works in stages to wick away perspiration. Firstly, the fabric absorbs water vapour until it is saturated. Then, due to the difference in pressure between inside and outside the jacket, the fabric disperses the water vapour outwards. The main advantage of the hydrophilic membrane is that it does not contain pores; consequently, there is no need to constantly rinse the fabric to wash off any salt water crystals. Breathability therefore remains constant over time.
Score to compare the environmental impact of products
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over its entire life cycle and with different indicators. An overall score (ABCDE) is attributed to help you easily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type with one another (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon chose to apply this voluntary environmental labelling scheme. For more information, visit: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
