Nicolas Capdeville

Born in the small town of Mimizan on the Atlantic coast in the Landes region of France, Nicolas Capdeville discovered bodyboarding during physiotherapy treatment following a motorbike accident in 1986. He fell in love with the sport, started competing and became the top performing French sportsman in the world of boardsports:
- 2 ISA international Surfing Association world championship titles in 1992 and in 2002
- 1 GOB (Global Organisation of Bodyboarders) world championship title in 2002/2003
- 2 times European champion in 1993 and in 2002
- 6 times French champion.
- winner of the French Bodyboard Cup  in 2011

Following this long sporting career, Nicolas decided to turn his hand to teaching to pass on his experience and knowledge of bodyboarding to others. The next logical step for him was therefore to set up his own surfing and bodyboarding school in Mimizan in 1999, to help others discover and share the thrill of boardsports.
He also wanted to invest in the development of bodyboarding products. He initially met with Tribord in 2003, and since then, has helped the brand’s design team based in Hendaye, not far from Mimizan, to produce products that meet the full expectations of bodyboarders. He works alongside Tribord to make the thrill of this ever increasingly popular boardsport accessible to as many people as possible.
He made a successful comeback to the world of competitive bodyboarding in 2011, winning the French Bodyboarding Cup. He was hooked once again! In 2012, at the age of 40, he is taking part once again in the IBA World Tour alongside the new generation of professional bodyboarders.  He is working with Tribord teams to develop the bodyboard900 pro and is using a model from the series in each stage of the tour, which travels to some of the most stunning places on the planet.
