To make the most of your EASYBREATH®, it is essential to choose a size that is suited to the shape and size of your head.

To take full advantage of the Easybreath® experience in the long term, here are
some tips and some advice on how best to use your snorkelling mask. Avoid
leaving your Easybreath® mask in the sand As is the case of sunglasses, the
Easybreath® mask must not be left in direct contact with grains of sand. There
is a risk that they will scratch the lens of your mask and reduce visibility in the
water. In the same way, do not apply force when clipping the snorkel on if you
feel the grains of sand are causing resistance. Simply rinse your Easybreath®
snorkel and your snorkelling mask before clipping them together.

Why isn't the snorkel of the Easybreath very long?
Contrary to what some may think, the snorkel of the Easybreath sticks out of the water more than a traditional snorkel. A traditional snorkel seems longer because it starts from the mouth and not the top of the head like the Easybreath. If you try breathing through a snorkel and then through a garden hose you will understand that the longer the tube, the harder it is to breathe. To guarantee a level of respiratory effort that meets current standards, we cannot make the snorkel any longer.
Why can't you free dive with the Easybreath mask?
The volume of air contained in the Easybreath is much greater than that contained in a traditional mask; from 1 m deep, the pressure of the mask on the face becomes very uncomfortable. When you free dive, you need to equalize the pressure afterwards. However, with the Easybreath this is not possible because you cannot get at your nose.
Why are there 4 sizes? What size Easybreath should I choose?
The Easybreath is available in 4 sizes which cover 90% of faces. For children aged between 10 and 12, choose size XS, for women and teenagers, choose size S/M, and for men, choose size M/L or L/XL. To choose the right size in store, tighten the mask so that it fits against your face. There should be no gap between your chin and the bottom of the mask. Can I use the Easybreath if I have a beard?
Beards can be responsible for letting in significant amounts of water. We recommend that men shave their beards before using the Easybreath because the hairs can break the seal between the silicone skirt of the mask and your skin.
How does the exclusive anti-fogging concept work?
It works best in waters over 18°C and is based on the fact that the fresh air breathed in is projected onto the front window before reaching the nose or mouth. The damp air that you breathe out is expelled through the side connections made of plastic and then silicone, which channel the air in the snorkel. In this way, the air constantly renewed. This is the same principle as the ventilation of your car windscreen.
How does the dry-top system stop water from entering?
It was developed to stop water from getting into the snorkel when there is choppy water, small waves on the surface or when the user leans their head too far forward to observe the seabed. There is a float in the snorkel that rises when you dive and blocks the tube. After diving, remember to blow out when returning to the surface to make sure that the float descends.
What precautions should I take with my Easybreath mask?
One thing to look out for: SAND. Avoid letting your Easybreath mask come into contact with sand as this can scratch the window of the mask. If sand is present, do not use force to clip the snorkel into place. Rinse the snorkel and mask before connecting them. Sand can also clog the float valve inside the snorkel. Rinse the snorkel vigorously or use a key that you can fit through the rear vents of the snorkel to unblock the float valve, then rinse the snorkel.

A must have.
Amazing all round vision and easy breathing. None except you do look a bit like a space man!

This mask is a must for any keen snorkelling fan. I can't recommend it highly enough. It is easy to use, stays clear, does not leak and makes seeing the fish so much more enjoyable and stress free. Fantastic item, worth every penny.

OK if you want to snorkel in a swimming pool
Didn't fog up Continually leaked and moved about face

When I received this mask it was too big so I exchanged it at a Decathlon store and going on the sizing tips the small/medium appeared to fit perfectly. The customer service at Decathlon cannot be faulted. I bought this mask as on previous holidays I have always had trouble with fogging and as I am a keen snorkeller this mask seemed to be the perfect solution for our holiday to the Maldives. Firstly, you do get some funny looks when wearing this mask but I was happy to put up with this if it performed - unfortunately it didn't. No matter how I adjusted the straps the mask moved all over my face continually letting in water from the top which meant I was continually having to stop to let the water out. Another problem is that this mask seems to be designed for snorkelling with your head continually looking downwards because as soon as you move your head around it leaks, not very good when you are trying to explore your surroundings. Interestingly, there were a couple of other people in our resort with these masks and I saw them sticking their heads out of the water to adjust it so I know it wasn't just me. The final straw came when we did a snorkelling trip in very choppy water with a strong current which took a lot of effort. You just don't feel as if you can get enough air through the snorkel especially if you are breathing heavier than normal and it can feel quite claustrophobic. The snorkel shuts off if water tries to enter it which feels quite scary when you are trying to breath in and nothing happens. Combined with waves breaking over my head thus shutting off the air supply and the mask sliding about and filling up with water it made for the most unpleasant experience and for the first time ever I felt unsafe in the water. It's a good idea which unfortunately in my case didn't deliver, maybe if you have never snorkelled before and you are in still waters it may be ok but for experienced snorkellers you can't beat a classic mask. Needless to say this piece of kit didn't even warrant luggage space on our return journey home and ended up in the bin, I didn't even want to give it away as it's so poor.

Brand's answer :

Dear Kathryn,

Many thanks for your detailed feedback and apologies for the issues that you have had with this product. The mask relies entirely on the quality of the seal around your face, and if there are any issues with this then the water can get in. This is normally caused by issues with the sizing (you have mentioned that you had already tried the size up/down so perhaps it isn't this) or could potentially be caused by an issue with the seal not working as it should, in which case it could be a faulty product. Either way I realise this is of no comfort to you post holiday especially considering that you no longer have it.
All of your feedback/information is of course very useful to us, and I will pass on to the design and manufacturing team behind the product in France.
In the meantime I have asked the Customer Service team to get in contact to arrange a full refund. Apologies once again for the inconvenience.
Best regards,
Ross Farrington Market Manager DECATHLON
